Aim and Objectives of the project

SEED encouraged and supported the establishment of four Competence Centres for Social Innovation – in Italy, Greece, Romania, and Slovenia. Researchers, experts, policymakers, and public servants worked together to create a public and open infrastructure and provided support for the integration of social innovation into national innovation ecosystems through the development of effective guidelines, the implementation of trainings, workshops, events, and other activities.

Project Indicators and Results

To achieve these goals, the SEED project, taking into account the priority needs of the national ESF managing authorities, engaged social innovation actors through four priority areas of ESF support:

  • addressing social innovation as a driving force for public sector innovation (Italy);
  • promoting social innovation in the field of digitalization (Slovenia);
  • recognizing, reconnecting, and institutionalizing social innovation (Greece);
  • using social innovation for the development of local communities (Romania).
